Rated 2 out of 5 by OK for very LIGHT duty I bought this to use with my KM130 power head thinking it would be a bit more user friendly than the straight shaft for trimming around my house. It may be a bit easier on my back but the angle of the head is wrong for me (average build 5'11"). It is also difficult to get into tight areas with this (under bushes, around rain barrels, etc.)My biggest complaint is the tiny little string head. It is difficult to load. It is very string sensitive (only reliably feeds certain strings). It would not reliably feed the smaller line that it came loaded with from the dealership. I had to put the largest line that would fit in it (.095) to get it to feed reliably. Unfortunately I can't fit much of the larger line into the string head. I trim around my 1300sf house and a dozen trees and typically run out of line on the last few trees. Very frustrating. This is the first Stihl product (I own or have owned many) that I have been truly disappointed in.Bottom line: I'll be selling this and going back to the straight shaft attachment August 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great product I've had no trouble at all. I edge my yard every other week. And I'll do the neighbors every now and then . The only downside to it is that it does not feel balanced. Wish I had gotten the straight shaft. I think I'm just more use to a straight shaft. May 29, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by curved shaft kombi edger I bought one locally, the dealer only had one and it was a curved shaft. It worked for about two hours. Out of town needed an edger went to two dealers only had a curved shaft thought I would buy it take other back new one worked 2 minutes. Went back to dealer, told me power heads must be bad. Bought new power head neither attach. Worked. Guess what I think of these attachments. August 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best thing I have purchased I have had this item almost 4yrs and never had an issue with this item, the only issue I have had was that my wife ran over the side of the motor and cracked the case, but still works great!!! April 21, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not a good solution I have owned my KombiSystem for 4 years. I bought the KM-FCB lawn edger with the engine as well as the blower. Warranty replacement in 1 year after using it 3 times. Now it is 2 years later and I have probably used it another 3 times, and the cable is unwrapping again. The blower is a solid piece of metal where it connects and I use it 10 times as much - zero issues.Only buy if you are sure you will replace it before your two year warranty expires. Rated 5 out of 5 by Never had a mechanical problem with this attachment or any Stihl attachment. I'm not sure why this unit is failing in other reviews. Quite honestly, I've been waiting for my curved shaft edger to break so that I'll have an excuse to move up to the straight shaft.I'm not a professional landscaper so this edger is used just on weekends but after 13 years, this unit still serves me well. And I've never taken it to the service center for repairs. The only part I've replaced in it besides the blade was the rubber mud flap which understandably began to tear after years of weekly use.At the start of each mowing season, I make sure that I clean the edger of any lodged or caked dirt, grease the gearbox, put in a new blade, and tune up the FS85T power unit. The straight shaft is still in my want list but this curved shaft edger has given me no reason to replace it.
