Rated 5 out of 5 by Started right up Bought and used a couple times, then started hiring someone to do the yard. After about three different people and lack of their reliability and now a couple years having passed, I decided to do my yard myself. Dusted off the trimmer filled with Stihl's MotoMix and it darn near started on the first pull but I was good to go on the third pull. Performs like a champ! May 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by As always Stihl equipment is superior to anything else. I bought this trimmer to replace one I had from another manufacture. The HS45 is what I should have bought to begin with. For the money you simple cannot purchase a better trimmer. May 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hedge Trimmer Bought this for my landscaping company used it recently on a larger job trimming hedges my crew loved it had plenty of power to get the job done it's not to heavy but does have some weight to it. The anti vibration system is great can use it for hours. Most likely buying another. I love the quality you get when you buy Stihl. It does take a few pulls to get it started but once you get use to it's not that bad to start. January 28, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Used it once, then couldn't start it I used this product one time then could not start it. Took it back to the dealer. They replaced the carb and said they have a lot of problems with these carbs. January 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great bang for the buck Have about 200 yards of hedges to trim twice a year. Beat the Craftsman I had hands down. Hands are not numb or worn out after using all day like the Craftsman. Have used it for 3 yrs. and never needed to sharpen the blade yet! January 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good dependable product. Not the least expensive but you get what you pay for. Stihl is the best. October 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pricise cutting. Well engineered design. I've owned 2 trimmers in the past (electric and gas) but decided invest in a Stihl. The blade cuts excellent resulting in a precise trim. The cutting bar is long allowing me to reach difficult spots. My next door neighbor also has an HS45. I've owned several competitive brands of power tools in the past but decided to go with Sthil for all my needs . They always start and are very reliable. September 23, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by aggravating I dont understand why stihl uses a line and a circle to indicate on or off. Why not on and off or even just off or just run. Holy shnikes i want to throw this thing in the high way.Its a mean machine but a word of advice. A black sharpy if you can figure out how to get it started once the manuel is gone. So you stand a chance on the cold start. And I dare you to find if the line or the circle means run on this web site. September 6, 2014
