PS 40 Pruning Saw
A fixed-blade pruning saw with 7” blade, ideal for cutting branches up to 5” in diameter.
Whether you’re working in the yard or the back forty, the PS 40 pruning saw is a great partner to have at hand. It features a 7" fixed blade with impulse-hardened teeth that stays sharp three to four times longer than conventional teeth and easily cuts dense or frozen branches up to 5” in diameter. The curvature ground blade provides the highest precision and the least amount of pinching. Its comfort grip gives you a firm grasp on the blade at every angle. The composite sheath features a thumb lock and belt loop so it is always where you need it.
Note: Impulse-hardened blades cannot be sharpened.

It’s time to call in the big guns. The STIHL PL 40 lopper is our largest model, made for higher tree branches that defy lesser tools. Its aircraft aluminum handle measures a full 32”, perfect for reaching taller branches and getting better leverage on all your pruning tasks. Its specially designed cutting head has a cutting capacity of 2”. If this lopper can’t cut it, it probably needs a saw.
Note: The cutting blades can be sharpened using a file or honing stone.
If you have large hands, the PP 80 hand pruner from STIHL is like a well-tailored suit for your fingers. It features the same high-quality steel, non-slip handle and quick-release blade lock as our PP 70 hand pruner, but features a 1” longer handle for comfort and improved grip and a cutting capacity of up to .80”. No more hand strain from awkward holds. And like the PP 70, its chrome-plated blades can be re-sharpened, even replaced, improving the lifespan of your hand pruners.
