This tool is a state of the art treasure.

    Best lopper ever!
These things are great, if you need to trim limbs, brush, undergrowth you want a pair of these, I've got two and I love them and they have lasted for years.

    High quality axe!
I just finished my itnitial use of the Forestry Axe. I used it to assist my power splitter in finishing off pieces which don't completly split during the normal cycling of the hydraulic splitter. The balance and ease of use are great. I also used it to split some pieces and it is very effective although I didn't purchase it for use as a splitting maul. I plan to take it to the woods for removing small limbs and branches and to set plastic wedges. The shorter overall length (27") is very nice for ... read more striking accuracy and seems to make it very efficient. While not a cheap tool, it is built to last and is very well made. The steel sleeve is a very nice feature for those of us who might tend to overstrike once in a while.

    Best Axe Ever!
I bought this axe because my local dealer didn't have the Pro Splitting Axe in stock. Best axe I have ever owned. No other is even close. Splits smaller logs easily. The locking mechanism is impressive and you never feel the head move. The handle guide is study and large enough to protect from over strikes. I usually have buyers remorse but not on this axe. One of the best purchases I have ever made. I bought the Pro Splitting axe also and love it also.

    Awesome Forestry Axe!!!
Wow what an axe, size, weight, balance and a Great 5 piece head design. I can't see this hickory handle ever breaking with this new long steel sleeve attached or the head ever coming off with this 5 piece system. Stihl did it again...one of a kind and another awesome product made in the USA. Thank you Stihl...

    KaPOW!
I had to re-learn how to split wood with this axe. Im so used to dropping a heavy swing and this monster just plows through Pinion and Ash like they aren't even there. even splitting unseasoned rounds is a breeze. best axe I have ever used.

    Fine Piece of Axe
I bought this and a Splitting Maul. This axe outperforms the Maul by Far. Although its not made to take a blow like the Maul would be. It is not necessary. This axe has a substantial weight and edge to plough through the toughest of wood. We have an outdoor burner that takes a log bigger than 1 man could lift. This axe was able to split the majority of the oversized stuff (24+" dia x 30" length) usually in less than 10 blows. Sure its a workout, but why pay to go to a gym when theres wood to be split.

This axe best i ran across
I bought this after useing axe's from big box stores they where not funnest tools to use. I found this axe to be more effective and i got way less muscle aches after use than other axes. I had taken this axe to a knife dealer to put the sharpest edge he could.( sharp enough just light touch would make you bleed).after cutting 2 cords of wood still holds great edge (i cut black cherry tree and white oak) . The metal colar realy helps it on over strikes. It spit through every thing i thrown at it ... read more logs over 36 inchs.

Perfect hand saw for trimming limbs.
I've had my PS 60 Pruning Saw for the last five years and it is still as sharp as when I bought it! It has a very comfortable hand grip and seems to be just at the right angle to make cutting almost effortless. The saw carrier is well made and easy to wear on your belt. If you don't want to get the chainsaw out to cut small branches, get yourself one of these,it's a real time saver.

    Excellent design and functionality.
I feel certain that this fine product will provide many years of dependable service. It is a joy to use. You just can't go wrong with this saw.

Best hand pruner I've used for pruning apple trees
I have a 100 tree apple orchard that I manage. Annual pruning takes a sizeable amount of time. My old Stanley pruners caused hand pain and finger fatigue. The Felco pruners that I tried kept slipping out of my hand as they seemed to be end-heavy. Stihl's PP70 pruners are the best by far. No fatigue or hand pain after hours of pruning. Better still, they seem to be an extension of the hand and are easily maneuvered around and between branches when pruning. I oil the blade and the pivot point ... read more after each day of pruning.. A touch up sharpening with the diamond stone is needed once or twice during the season. The price is a tad high but you get what you pay for. I've purchased a second set to have as a spare. On the down side, I've busted the spring twice due to fatigue, but Stihl has replaced it both times without question under their lifetime warranty.

    PP 70
This hand pruner is the best I have ever used, let alone held! The locking feature is easy to unlock but is very secure when not in use. The price may scare some homeowners/landscapers away, but the quality of the blades are amazing and can be removed to be sharpened, unlike many professional hand pruners out there. Amazing hand pruner for all jobs, from cutting flowers to trimming small branches! I do recommend the hand pruner leather sheath for easy transport!

    Very nice.
Great leverage and action. Light and strong. We have had 3 pairs. Sort of difficult to buy as local dealers don't all carry the hand tools.

Found this tool very durable as a timber felling axe for driving wedges
Started using this axe this year as a trial to see how it held up to driving wedges as part of my job felling timber. Well it held up surprisingly well and even though its a little on the light side I found I could get a good powerful fast swing that could drive wedges into a heavy side and back leaner that was 45" dbh. The handle at the head of the axe is strong and with all the heavy wedge work the head is still holding tight. Only issue I had was the second axe I bought I did not check the ... read more grain orientation in the handle and it snapped right at the upper bend when I was driving my first wedge with it. So make sure you check the grain on the handle and make sure it is oriented vertically and not horizontal for the strongest axe handle. They are guaranteed for life if the handle fail premature so that is a nice feature from Stihl. Fits into metal scabbards well. Overall great timber falling axe that I would recommend.

    Interesting design
Thin bit cut deep and clean on green birch. Ample striking surface for pounding soft wedges. Choke up to extended shoulder to split kindling for good balance. Seems to hold a decent edge so far. Easy to carry in an aluminum scabbard.

    An excellent axe.
This axe is extremely well built. I had to do a minor amount of sharpening when I got it, but it took a razor sharp edge and holds it well. The shape is good for general purposes, but leans towards chopping more than splitting. It's a good size for my needs; Small enough to fit in a backpack for camping, but big enough to take with me car camping or to process wood at the house. I haven't used it a huge amount, but it's holding up well so far.
