Rated 5 out of 5 by It's a great product This machine is the best weedeater I've ever owned. Used it today for the first time. It cut through very thick and wet grass, weeds, and vines. It was a little high priced for me but I'm very glad my wife bought it behind my back. I won't buy another brand. April 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Trimmer head alternative I purchased this trimmer because of the name and as a owner of Stihl chain saws growing up in the logging industry Stihl was considered the best. The stock trimmer head has some issues in my opinion. When I consulted with the dealer to use a different trimmer head he stated nothing available. The trimmer head tends to allow the string to tangle within the winding spool. When this happens the string wont adjust and sometimes will break at the eyelet guides. When this happens you need a screw driver to take apart and untangle, rewind the string and reset back togeather. This takes several minutes. When the string is used up and its time to reload, it still takes time to rewind the string and reassemble for service and will require a screwdriver to remove and reinstall the string spool. I have a older trimmer that has a speed-feed 375 semi automatic trimmer head. The ease of reloading the string is accomplished in about 30 to 40 seconds. I purchased and installed a trimmer head as described and placed on the new FS 90 R. Works great. There is a center grip between the handle and the strap connecter. The grip is not stationary and rotates. This causes insecure movement when holding the trimmer for starting operations. Should be removed or a better way to secure. April 17, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by The Fs90r is awesome! All around a great trimmer. At my landscaping company, the Fs90r is the chosen favorite among my guys. We have 3. We generally use them for general everyday trimming, but with the brush cutter attachment it will handle just about anything. For running alot of attachments we use the km130r's, but we definitely use the 90 whenever possible! All three start on the first or second pull and run like a dream. The 4mix 4 stroke engine is a great feature. They're great on gas, powerful, quiet and durable. April 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is a fantastic product I recommend this to any homeowner that has a little bigger yard than most. I never had a problem starting, or with the power of the product. Very easy and comfortable to use. April 6, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Valve dropped into cylinder after 2.5 years light commercial use I have a full lineup of stihl products for my landscaping business inlcuding a blower, a cut off saw, a handheld hedge trimmer, and a chainsaw.Unfortunately, I was dissapointed by the fs90r, the weak link is definately the valves(ie the part that the regular 2 strokes dont have) I was pleased with the performance until that failure. The vavle guide was pushed right through the top of the cylinder head, and that was about 2 months after having the valves adjusted. I maintain it well, and use stihl oil only. Do a google search for 4 mix dropping valves and you will see whats been happening. Will be replacing with a unit from another brand unless I hear theres been some issues worked out or if I can get the stihl FS85r 2 stroke again. March 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is a work horse. I also bought a grass blade and conversion kit with this trimmer. I used it to clean up a treed lot. I did have a couple of bolts work free, but not a big problem. It came with the tools needed. We have had this home for over 25 years, It is cleaner now then it has been in a long time. The FS90R is a great product. March 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent machine! Best trimmer I ever had, plenty of torque, very easy to start, 1-2 pulls always. Haven't touched it except normal maintenance in 4 yrs, wouldn't have anything else! March 17, 2014
