Rated 5 out of 5 by Fs70r is upgrade version of fs56r. Fs70r is very good for commerical use around ppl house and business area but if you going to cut overgrown gas and weeds or edge the overgrown curve with this unit then it better to get LoNoiz .105-inch-by-700-foot quiet grass twist square trimmer line provides commercials grade. Trust will be be about same as fs90r against overgrown when you use LoNoiz trimmer line in Fs70r. April 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great trimmer This trimmer has been easy to start and runs smooth. It feeds line great and hasn't let me down. I just got my Stihl out after a bitter cold winter of hanging in my uninsulated garage and it fired right up first try. It's been running great since. I only take care of four yards, but it's been a heck of a lot better than my last trimmer from a competitor that is orange which gave up the ghost after a year with less lawns. I recommend this trimmer with no doubts. April 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Powerful As soon as got it started I could see the smile on my own face, I knew I made the right choice. I had reservations on the purchase but I took the plunge and got the FS 70 R, I have just over 10 acres with a vinyl 3 rail fence spanning about 800 feet, my other trimmer just would not cut the grass around each post without getting tangled/ caught up due to the thickness. This machine without even being broken in (less than full throttle 90-95% of the time) tackled that obstacle with almost superhero like ease. Normally with the other trimmer it would take over 2 hours to trim and edge my property. I was done in less than 20 minutes ON HALF THROTTLE!!! and not to mention my back was not sore afterwards, because of the weight diffrence this machine feels like a feather, very well balanced, and uber easy to handle with little to no kickback. All in all GET IT you will NOT be disapointed! April 13, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by does a good job works well. but the manifold comes loose after 6 months causing it to be put into the shop for repairs. then 5 months later does the same thing. April 11, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not great functionality for consumer use around the house Trimmer string grabs too much. Once if grabs it pulls trimmer head down into grass or into other things being trimmed around. This results in grass trimmedtoo low or damage to items being trimmed around. April 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is a good product I have been well pleased with this product. It is my first Stihl product and I plan on buying more. maybe a chain saw in the near future. April 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by What an Amazing product I bought this Trimmer at the beginning of last season for my lawn care business. I used to Trim with a low grade electric trimmer, the Fs-70 was such an upgrade! For the Whole season the trimmer remained extremely reliable so I could depend on it every week to get my jobs done. The Trimmer has Ample power for trimming around obstacles, edging beds and concrete, and even chopping down tall thick grass in a garden. This trimmer is more than equipped for commercial lawn care work, and will remain in my fleet for years to come. There is also a sense of comfort knowing my local John Deere dealership can service it if anything ever goes wrong (which I doubt it will). What an excellent piece of equipment I will always purchase Stihl Products. February 11, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great for a startup landscaper..... This trimmer was recommended to me as a good "budget starter" trimmer.I like the trimmer and it has served me well. I had an issue where the unit would not stop with the button on the handle...I had to kill it with the choke switch. I took it to my dealer who promptly fixed it under the warranty. For some reason I do not like the stock trimmer head on this unit...which I am told by my dealer is standard on all Stihl trimmers. It is very tall and the string is high off the ground. I have to either angle the unit forward or drag it low in the grass and turf to get the precision I desire...which makes running the unit a bit awkward. I switched out to the Duro Cut head and that has been a little better...but not perfect. I like the flatter profile of the RedMax trimmer head better.Power-wise this trimmer gets the job done for grass, edging, and light brush clearing complaints there.Weight-wise I think an extra pound would balance the unit a bit better in my hands.I am definitely upgrading to another trimmer soon.Overall....the price is right on this unit for a first try into the world of Stihl trimmers especially if you are on a budget. I would recommend it. January 20, 2016
