Rated 5 out of 5 by great trimmer Starts easy and reliable! Its been years since we have found trimmers with this horsepower! July 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by For the big jobs Bought this after going through 2 Craftsman higher end units with blade/saw/etc. This unit gets used a LOT. Next to the ones I have had before, this unit is lighter, better balanced, more powerful, quieter, starts faster, and actually idles without dying. Cost more of course, and with the blade extension and multiple style blades, the price was up there. But it actually works, so there you go. I use the heaviest string that it will take, and changing the line is manual, which I much prefer. June 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by very nice trimmer but line is weak put on the thicker line asap nice product very easy to start even after winter May 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A tool you can rely on with power to spare. Build quality, fit and finish are very nice. 4 stroke engine starts easy and has a surprising level of torque. Clear cutting dense, heavy, waste high vegetation was an absolute thrill. I could not bog the engine down regardless of my attempts. October 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by great dependable trimmer I've owned the 110r for 2 years and have not had a single issue with it.starts very easy(usually one or two pulls when cold, always one pull when warm),great power but still good for close precise trimming.I also have the brushblade for the unit and that works excellent for thicker stuff.the only slight negatives are its seems to go threw gas pretty quick and it was pretty costly, but I guess u get what u pay for and so far the 110r has been well worth it. Rated 5 out of 5 by I have one of the original FS 110 I've had this trimmer for many years. Bought it when they first came out and because my other one would use 3 tanks of fuel just to get the front slope of the lawn done. I was told this one was better on fuel (and it only used 1 tank to do the whole slope) This is a interesting engine on this model. It's not a 2 cycle , but a combination 2 and 4. It sounds different. Instead of winding way up and screaming it has a lower RPM. Seems to have better torque. I've use it in all kinds of brush and heavy grass. I would agree that it could use a bit more power and Stihl has the 130 which I may get. But, this one has lasted as every Stihl tool I own has, very well. I have used many of the Stihl tools from the smallest to the largest of their line I will have to say I'm sold on Stihl tools. Back to this trimmer, 15 years of hard use. I just took this trimmer in to the dealer for the first time for any service. I have to have a new carb put on it, first service 15 years that's dependability. As far as I'm concerned YOU CAN'T BEAT STIHL! October 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This product is reliable but The Stihl trimmer is reliable but is very heavy and not weighted good at all for balance. The head is not easy to trim with as the head (line) is very large and places the trimmer to high off the ground. The large guard is nice but does not allow you to get close in certain spots.
