Rated 5 out of 5 by I have one of the original FS 110 I've had this trimmer for many years. Bought it when they first came out and because my other one would use 3 tanks of fuel just to get the front slope of the lawn done. I was told this one was better on fuel (and it only used 1 tank to do the whole slope) This is a interesting engine on this model. It's not a 2 cycle , but a combination 2 and 4. It sounds different. Instead of winding way up and screaming it has a lower RPM. Seems to have better torque. I've use it in all kinds of brush and heavy grass. I would agree that it could use a bit more power and Stihl has the 130 which I may get. But, this one has lasted as every Stihl tool I own has, very well. I have used many of the Stihl tools from the smallest to the largest of their line I will have to say I'm sold on Stihl tools. Back to this trimmer, 15 years of hard use. I just took this trimmer in to the dealer for the first time for any service. I have to have a new carb put on it, first service 15 years that's dependability. As far as I'm concerned YOU CAN'T BEAT STIHL! October 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This product is reliable but The Stihl trimmer is reliable but is very heavy and not weighted good at all for balance. The head is not easy to trim with as the head (line) is very large and places the trimmer to high off the ground. The large guard is nice but does not allow you to get close in certain spots. Rated 5 out of 5 by durable, and easy to start It works great, isn't too heavy, easy to hold, and starts easy for me. September 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for the demanding homeowner Bought a smaller Stihl trimmer and was disappointed. Took it back and exchanged it for this one. It has the power to cut the heavy weeds and the grass around the trees. Starts like a champ. Nice and long so I don't have to bend down as much. I don't like the supplied line but that's easy to change. August 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is light weight and very dependable. I purchased this product about 3 months ago and have enjoyed using it, it is very light weight and weight is balanced evenly making it easier to use, have not had any problems with it. It starts on the 3rd pull every time I get it out to use it. Very dependable and would recommend it to everyone needing a good trimmer. July 25, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by My third string trimmer in 15 years....This one is frustrating to keep in string. Help. Your product is a poor reproduction of my previous three trimmers. The black plastic portion of the handle rotates around the axis of the shaft. This makes for a "no touching" portion of the handle.....weird. design makes you work harder to hold and use the product...The string will not give you 15 minutes of service before it breaks off to the inside of the cartridge.....and taking the head apart requires tools and 15 minutes.....This kills the time advantage of trimming with a motorized trimmer. Have had to use hand sheers when time spent doing yard was shortened by sundown. Poor design. Or maybe I don't know how to use. I've been a power plant operator for 15 years......can learn and follow instructions....Your manual is too vague. This trimmer was purchased on the reputation of my chainsaw experiences with your products......I am highly disappointed in this product. I would recommend against purchasing it. June 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by great trimmer! I have owned this trimmer for about 5 years. It was my first trimmer, and i was about 13 at the time. I got it for doing work around our country home, cutting brambles and saplings, plus string trimming. About a year later, i was offered a landscaping job. so i brought my own trimmer. it has been commercially landscaping for the past 4 years with me. i have had NO issues with it, other than the spark arrestor screen loading up, and the primer bulb cracked. Mine was under the fuel cap recall- which i still have to take care of- but i cant complain. so much power, i have gotten my boss'es ech* SRM225 out of several minds with the extra 10cc's mine puts out. powers the 3 blade brush knife no problem. Highly reccomend it to homeowners with alot of acreage and landscapers June 16, 2014
