Rated 5 out of 5 by I love STIHL equipment I just bought a FS110R i love this thing it has a noticeable improvement in power over the FS 90R. Stihl is by far a superior brand of outdoor power equipment over echo, shindaiwa, red max, etc. I would recommend Stihl to anyone these machines are lighter than competitors models and they are extremely well built machines. If you walk into a outdoor power equipment dealer and you dont see the Stihl brand you need to turn around and walk out. I own a variety of Stihl equipment and other than normal maintenance i have never had a problem out of my equipment. October 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A very well built product. We use an FS 110 R for power sweeping in the Spring and Fall, and weed trimming (or weed whacking as us New Englanders call it) throughout the Summer. It's not the only Stihl product we own and use but it's the best one we've purchased and after many years of use, I'm most proud of it. Next Spring we will be purchasing another FS 110 R with other various attachments. September 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by START ON THE FIRST PULL i loved my FS110 R But I guess someone else loved it even more they stole it out of my shop along with my cordless drills ,so it time to buy another Stihl trimmer, with a better lock for my shop September 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good tool I have had this for a couple of weeks, I'm on my 5th tank of gas. I have the brush cutter and chain saw attachments. I have been clearing the undergrowth on my 1.25 acre wild desert property. I have been cutting a lot of Mesquite, Desert broom, Hackberry, Jojoba, and more. I only used the line trimmer a little, mostly the chain saw and brush cutter. It's doing a good job. When cold, on a 110 degree day, it starts on the first pull. When hot, it takes a few pulls, though with the switch in the run position, it seems to start faster. changing cutters is easy, and fast.My only problem with it is the strap clip. It comes unclipped frequently when cutting trees.Balance is easy to adjust for various tool heads. The price is high, but I have a lot of cutting to do and I wanted a quality tool. I have not used any cheaper tools, so I can't compare. The quality of the tool is very good, well made. I like the selection of tool heads available. It would be nice if a longer pole/ drive shaft assemblies were offered.I hope it lasts me many years. August 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Versatile and dependable I've used my FS 110 R for several years and I've been satisfied with it. It starts easily, warms up quickly, and can be used for multiple tasks. I have at least 6 different attachments and blades I use with it, and that number is likely to increase. One disadvantage with the 110 is that my wife doesn't have the strength to pull the starter cord quickly enough to start the engine. So she bought a plug-in electric trimmer. That's fine with me, since the 110 will always be avaialble for me. August 5, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nicely powered machine that handles very well. Nicely powered machine that handles very well. Am having a problem with the cutting line though, it breaks off inside the cartridge way too often. Easy enough to correct the line, but it continues to break off and I have to stop and redo it way too much. I have had multiple trimmers in the past and this is the only one that has done this to me. The dealer gave me a new cartridge, thinking the original was defective. It remains to be seen if this works now or not... July 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by great trimmer Starts easy and reliable! Its been years since we have found trimmers with this horsepower! July 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by For the big jobs Bought this after going through 2 Craftsman higher end units with blade/saw/etc. This unit gets used a LOT. Next to the ones I have had before, this unit is lighter, better balanced, more powerful, quieter, starts faster, and actually idles without dying. Cost more of course, and with the blade extension and multiple style blades, the price was up there. But it actually works, so there you go. I use the heaviest string that it will take, and changing the line is manual, which I much prefer. June 30, 2015
