Rated 5 out of 5 by Well made and smooth After attempting to sharpen our made-in-the-pacific-rim trimmer and finding that it was impossible, we decided to look into the purchase of a QUALITY product. All I can say is this is a home run! It is more quiet, smooth and easy to use than those you can get at the large chain stores. We have only had it for a few weeks, but can already tell that it was money well spent! Holly bushes can be trouble for bargain tools, but not this one, it cuts thru the stems and branches with ease. We like the blade-cutter safety that stops cutting INSTANTLY when you let go. This is a QUALITY yard tool that should serve for many years, not one or two like the low cost and quality competitors. Thank you STIHL for this quality product. April 3, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by This is a great product I just purchased this product, it is well worth the extra money! From the first shrub to the last it was an easy clean cut. very little effort, quiet operation and lots of power it did not matter what size the branch, if it fits into the blade it cut it with ease. I am a STIHL person now, I will only spend my money on these products, well built and again worth the extra money. June 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Real Timesaver!! I had a hedge trimmer from one of the big box stores. This trimmer runs circles around my old one. Especially quick on boxwoods, Ligustrums are still a challenge but not nearly as much as with the old trimmer. My arms are sore from holding the trigger on the top bar but that's just me being out of shape. June 22, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not worth the money Purchased this for home use. Looking for a powerful, durable tool. Put less than 80 hours on it over about five years and one of the switches went out. Service center says it is not worth repairing. Basically, this tool was gone before the blade got dull. I would have gotten the same results using a disposable trimmer for half of the money. Rated 5 out of 5 by This is an excellent electric hedge trimmer for Home Use . . . This is an excellent electric hedge trimmer for Home Use. It is easy to handle and use. The dependability and power has more than met my expectations. The unit is corded so you have to bring out your long extension cord. However, there is a convenient slot at the rear of the handle for attaching your cord so that it will not pull loose when you are walking around. The appearance and quality of build is excellent, as you will normally expect from a Still product. I highly recommend this unit for home use. I have NOT used it commercially. One of the gas-powered hedge trimmers might be better suited for that, but this one is excellent for home use. April 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I am a gas to electric convert I was convinced that electric would not be powerful enough. To give electric the best shot I bought this Stihl model. I could not be more surprised. This is a Boxwood eating machine. Pretty much if you can get the limb in the teeth, you can cut it. I cut limbs 3/4" in diameter. I locked the motor a couple of times on the biggest limbs but that was cutting technique. Start the motor first then cut the limb. I never had any more trouble. Worrying with the electric cord is what it is but gas has its on set of problems. After several hours of straight cutting with endless power I am not as tired and I do not smell like fumes.
