Rated 5 out of 5 by More than enough! More than enough to get normal firewood, clean-up etc. done. No issues with saw whatsoever. Light for the power you get in return. August 12, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by completely underpowered! Bought this saw while my other saw (Not a Stihl) was in the shop for a tune up not happy with this purchase! August 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by this would be a great choice I bought this chain saw and i'm so glad.It has not yet needed to be sharpened . I've cut many oak trees and nothing compares to it. my old competior saw i was sharpening the chain every 30 minutes.I LOVE THIS UNIT. July 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent homeowner saw I bought this saw to complete a fire mitigation project for our new Colorado home. It was flawless from day 1. I cut 1 1/2 rolloffs full of trees without a problem. I kept checking the chain for stretch and it stayed in spec. the entire time. The home is complete now and it's time for winter firewood. No worries! July 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Where's the Primer Bulb? I purchased the MS271 to replace an 032AV, some parts for which were no longer available from Stihl. Overall I like the 271, but it seems like it's down on power from the 032AV. That's a small price to pay for the savings in weight though. With the 032 my back would be talking to me long before I could get through a tank of fuel, but on the 271 a tank of fuel lasts just about as long as I want to cut. I always run the saw out of fuel when I'm done using it to save gumming up the carb if I don't use it for a while. My only complaint on the 271 is that without a primer bulb, it takes at least half a dozen pulls to get started on a fresh tank of fuel when the engine is cold. July 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by should have bought this first Stihl quality is the best. you can buy cheaper but the products do not last and have the dependability of stihl, so you might as well just get them from the start. you will save money and time in the end. July 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good saw Really like this saw. Better balance the wood boss. Handles a 20 inch bar like a champ July 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Saw Made a step up from the MS250...oh my goodness, what a step up indeed!!! I cut about 5 cord of wood per season, all for our wood stove. The wood ranges from pine to madrone. This saw absolutely cut through it all like a hot knife through butter! Have not had a problem starting thus far, I would recommend using only quality Stihl bar oil through it though. Overall the saw was a great purchase...could be excellent but it is too early to tell, as I have only had for a few months. July 14, 2014
