Rated 5 out of 5 by blowes a lot of leafs fast I wish I had bought this blower years a go. It is easy to use, not to heavy and blows leafs great. I am 69 years old and have had both knees replaced and I run 2 or 3 tanks of gas and take a break not because of my knees hurt, but when you get my age it takes a little time to get your wind back. My STHIL dealer here in Benton is great to deal with June 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Blower Ever! Just a few days ago i picked one of these up, it is light, dependable, and has plenty of power! I got this as a starter for my soon to be business. I had no trouble with the straps what so ever and i am 14! It can blow sticks, rocks, and leaves with no hesitation. June 12, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Major Failure at 1.5 year and 15 hour of use I purchased my blower a year and a half ago, Today I was using my blower and it was running fine. I heard a bang and it quit. Inspection revealed that the bracket holding the coil had broken and allowed the coil to contact the armature. The bracket is subject to heat and vibration yet is only about 1/8 of an inch thick. In my opinion, it was doomed to eventually fail due to poor design considering the weight of the coil. To call the BR 430 professional grade is an overstatement in my opinion. The dealer refused to talk about potential warrantee coverage. so I have yet to learn if it will be covered. The bracket is an integral part of the whole lower half of the engine. Repair cost will likely be equal to the cost of a new blower. If it is not covered I will not replace it with a Stihl. Too bad, I really liked this unit until today June 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great power to move even wet leaves Used this blower after our first tropical storm, good power moving wet leaves and small branches. Great time saver May 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by a very good product overall Overall I like the product very much. I have a very large area to clean with leaves and pine needles. To be fair, I have only had the opportunity to use the unit twice. I live on the edge of a national forest, so I have a large volume of leaves to move. I do this in stages. A few days at a time. The unit works well at its job and looks well constructed. The only complaint I have about it is that the shoulder straps keeps slipping off, even after adjustment. This is a real nuisance. An adjustable waist strap, or chest strap may help solve this problem. Otherwise, it performs and handles well. May 8, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Only missing 1 feature. I like the unit that I bought. I believe that it would be better if it had a cross belt to help keep the machine on the operators back better. I would also like it to be about 5 pounds lighter. Other than that I'm very satisfied. I never give a perfect rating, so needless to say a good machine. May 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by No Problems I read reviews about the straps sliding down, not having power when starting, and a few more problems. But, I purchased it from Ace Hardware, where it sputtered a bit when they started it for me, but after it warmed up for a minute, it ran fine.As for the straps, the man at Ace showed me that you need to put the blower on something about the height you would have it on your back. Put the straps on, and then have another person pull the straps from the bottom to cinch it up properly. In doing that, they don't slip for me, and it works fine.Very happy with the ease to use, reliability, and the weight for the power it has.
