Rated 5 out of 5 by I am a gas to electric convert I was convinced that electric would not be powerful enough. To give electric the best shot I bought this Stihl model. I could not be more surprised. This is a Boxwood eating machine. Pretty much if you can get the limb in the teeth, you can cut it. I cut limbs 3/4" in diameter. I locked the motor a couple of times on the biggest limbs but that was cutting technique. Start the motor first then cut the limb. I never had any more trouble. Worrying with the electric cord is what it is but gas has its on set of problems. After several hours of straight cutting with endless power I am not as tired and I do not smell like fumes. Rated 5 out of 5 by I've bought alot of gas tools, but trimming hedges is once/year for me The electric trimmer is well-made, sharp, easy to maintain and use and has great safety features and practical features like the extension cord block. You pass the cord through a loop and it prevents disconnection. Once again, another great tool and good value October 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great cutting results. I replaced a warehouse store electric with this model as I was not getting the results I was looking for in a powered hedge trimmer. I was impressed with how easy it was to shape the bushes with the HSE 70. My hedges have never looked so good. My only gripe is with the front safety bar, why put it there? The gas models have the safety switch on the back handle. With this model you must squeeze the front bar, at all times, or the blade will stop instantly. This is a problem if you like to move you hand around on the front bar. September 15, 2013
