Rated 1 out of 5 by Nice looking saw, just very little power I bought this for mostly inside use for trimming and blocking out bowl blanks, you won't get much cut until the reset shuts off the saw............then you gotta wait a long time before you can even get it to run again......very dis-appointed with all the hype about how great a sthil electric chainsaw was supposed to be...... way over priced for the poor performance January 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I purchased this saw for quiet use around the house. I purchased this saw as an alternative to my smelly and loud gas powered saw when cutting around the house and campsite. I anticipated that the benefits of operating a clean and quiet electric saw would be offset by some sacrifice of cutting power. This was simply not the case. This saw has viciously cut through all oak, pine, or walnut that I have used it for. I opted for the 18 inch bar and chain set up and am very pleased with the results. I recommend that any home owner needing a quiet saw to buck logs around the house consider this option. The price is a bit more than what you can find in the discount stores, but I’m confident the quality of this one will last a lifetime. January 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by this saw can really make a mountain of firewood ... I cannot use two stroke powered power tools. The ignition system will interfere with my newly installed pacemaker. The doctor told me to stop. Since I cannot use my conventional chainsaws anymore, I looked into the possibility of using electric saws. Most electric saws were barely adequate at cutting. When I took a look at the Stihl MSE 220 and saw it work, I knew I had a real chainsaw that I could use. It's a very serious cutting tool. I can cut wood all day with it and maintenance is simple. Add oil every once in a while and keep the chain sharp. That's it. Oh, and it's not very noisy either, the neighbors won't mind this at all... December 27, 2012
