Rated 5 out of 5 by This chainsaw is awesome I love how easy it is to start and put gas and oil in it. It has a ton of power compared to the 16in. Husqvarna I have. Myself being a woman that cuts up huge trees along side my husband to heat our house thought the 25in. was a great investment. It is full of so much torque I love it and I wasn't to scared to use, not to heavy either but that might just be me since I'm used to the weight. All in all I would recommend this brand of chainsaws to anyone. May 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I will never buy husky again! I am so impressed by the Stihl 362' that I bough my son 261, his first professional saw....it's equally impressive! Awesome for limbing and taking down medium size trees. I so regret not coming over from the dark side earlier! As long as Stihl maintains the quality and craftsmanship they have today I will always be loyal. I rely on these saws to start right up and run all day with minimal downtime and expense and Stihl has done that! Great saws! May 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by After a few tanks of fuel, Look Out. I purchased my ms362 approximately 4 yrs. ago, so I figured that now I could give an accurate review. I previously only ran jonsered chainsaws, which I cannot say anything bad about except the poor dealer networking in my area. This pushed me to purchase my first Stihl product. At first I was a little disappointed in the power, but was told that these saws must break in with a few tanks of fuel. Well, after 4-5 tanks of fuel the saw really started to take off. Now 4 years later this saw is by far the best saw I have ever owned and I use it to cut between 10-15 chords a year to feed my outdoor wood boiler which runs year round. The only complaint is with the air filtration which I'm told is changed on the newer models so maybe it is time for a new saw, but I will not be letting go of this one, it may just be my backup saw. I want to thank Stihl for building a quality American Made product and you have a lifelong customer from myself. May 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Saw! I own two Stihl saws along with the Kombi unit and a string trimmer. I have a third saw that is not a Stihl product and although it performs well I have had issues with keeping it running. The new saw (MS362) came with a 28" bar which makes trimming branches off the fallen tree much easier. I never thought about how much stress this put on my back with the smaller Stihl (FarmBoss) I was using for my bigger projects. No more binding over to get to those branches and it didn't add much in weight. What it did add is a lot more power which makes you work less too! I highly recommend the Stihl products. I have owned various Stihl products for many years and I have had little trouble with them and found them to be low cost to maintain. May 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by great chainsaw. dependable, good power I bought the MS362 with a 25" bar for the bigger trees that we run into. I am very pleased with the power and dependability of the chain saw. It cuts through the trees almost like they were butter. I would recommend this chain saw to anybody that does serious wood cutting. April 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great over all saw!! Just Finally moved from the city to the country and got a home on 10 acres of Thick dense woods! The Previous owner lived hear for 16 years and never used the land and never UP kept the land so lots of falling trees and a bunch of hung up trees needless to say I needed a chain saw that was up for the Challenge. I have bought stihl products before just a blower and a trimmer and in the 10 years I have owned them I have never had a problem with them so when it came to needing a chainsaw Stihl came to mind 1st. I went to my local Stihl dealership (Superior saw in mason michigan) and the people there were great to work with (I have never used a chainsaw in my life) I Explain my Property and they Recommended the MS362 so I bought it. I have used it just about everyday for the last 3 weeks and I am overly happy with the saw!! I am a mechanic and can tell this is a well built Machine and the 362 just rips with the 20inch bar I went with. I am so Impressed with Stihl products and the Dealership that I will be buying a MS660 and a 261 as well. Good job Stihl you have a great product and I Highly recommend there products to anyone in the market for a saw and Stihl makes them all the way from a small tiny 170 all the way up to the 880 so Their selection is fantastic. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great medium sized saw This was my first of 2 stihl saws I bought. The other one I own is a 192TC. I bought the saws to take out 20 large pines and 1 huge maple tree. I bought this saw because its the smallest pro saw that was rated for a 25" bar. I rarely cut wood this big but wanted the capability since these jobs seem to come up every now and then. The extra power is great for quickly cutting wood with smaller bars, too. I bought this saw thinking I could use it for everything; one size fits all, right? Well, I was wrong. Don't think about taking this saw into a tree on a ladder. It's too big and heavy. That's why I ended up getting the 192 which is perfect for going in a tree and cutting smaller branches once the tree is felled. Now, the 362 is one of the finest pieces of outdoor power equipment I have ever used and I'm very proud to own it. Im so glad I paid the extra little bit of money and went pro grade. The money difference is very little compared to the price range of these saws, in my opinion, so if you're looking for a saw this big, you might as well go pro grade. After one job you'll be glad you did. I would have never imagined that a saw could run so smoothly with so much power. I have 9 tanks of gas through it so far and like others have mentioned, the power output keeps going up. The saw used to bog a little when it was brand new but now it's basically unstoppable. I kind of wish I had a few more trees to cut as this saw rips through them so fast. It came with a 25" bar but I also bought a 16" bar for it. The 16" does most of my work and the saw is perfectly balanced with it. The 25" is reserved for the bigger trees and stump cutting. With the 25" bar, it's a little forward-heavy, but that would be handy for resting the saw on big wood and letting the weight do the cutting. The saw screams at full throttle and turns a lot of heads, so be ready for your neighbors to ask about it. It definitely sounds like a race saw. This saw will make short work of trees less than 2ft in diameter and you will be grinning the whole time when you see the shower of saw chips being thrown several feet in the air. Every man should experience this feeling. I'd say the best feature is the AVS, or anti-vibration system. I think this is 90% of the reason it feels so high end when operating it. You're literally holding an incredibly powerful saw running at full throttle and you don't even feel any vibrations. It's truly something spectacular and it definitely operates in a way that makes it feel well worth the money. When cold, it takes a few pulls to get it running but the starting procedure is spot on and works every time as described in the manual. There is never any guesswork and each time I go to use the saw, I am 100% confident it will start. Once warm, one short pull and you're running again. I let it idle for a minute or two to get some oil flowing on the bar and chain before I start laying it into wood. I thought I was going to sell the saw, as I bought it for this big job, but now after using it I'd rather just keep it. It's that awesome and something handy to have around when the next big storms roll through or when it s time to cut some firewood. This saw is so well built I can see owning it for at least the 20 years. It's designed to be rebuilt so I doubt I will ever have replace it. I see it as money well spent. Buy it once and buy it right. No doubt about it, if I ever get an offer to cut some huge oak for firewood, my next saw will be a 660 magnum. I think it's the best compliment to the 362 and also offers the best features like AVS. If I find myself needing anything bigger than a 660 I should probably be hiring someone to do the job!! Oh, and a huge shout out to Andy and the crew at Rommel's Ace Hardware of Baltimore, MD for the professional insight and excellent customer service. You've made me a believer in Stihl quality and a customer for life. It's been a pleasure doing business with these great Americans! April 16, 2013
