Rated 5 out of 5 by Balance perfected I'm about 6 cords of wood into this saw and nearly 2 acres of woodlands cleanup. My favorite part of that statement is I'm only 3 weeks into owning this saw and still keep up with a demanding full-time job developing software. That alone speaks volumes for the 261. I'm not a pro arborist and don't have a ton of time to just be out in the woods. So, read between the lines a little further and I'm saying the 261's weight & power balance allows this amateur to get a lot of work done in a short amount of time. One Saturday a buddy of mine brought his 362 CM over and it seemed like the 261 was barely a fraction slower. Of course, on paper, we are only talking about a 9 cc difference, but I was surprised the real world difference wasn't more noticeable.I have heard the 261 works like a 60 cc saw even though it is only 50. After keeping pace with my buddy's 362 (also a freshly broken-in saw) I think I can buy that statement. September 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid Performer Have used my MS 261 for over a year and have no complaints. The quality is good and it does everything it advertises. Things I especially like is the weight and number of dealers I can buy parts from. The only complaint I have is not the saw but the stihl carrying case. I can't find a place to carry bar oil or pre-mix in the carrying case. Sounds picky but if you transport a lot, it can be a pain to carry another box. June 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by BEST SAW! LOVE Incredible saw! AMAZING POWER! Love the professional line! The MS 261 C-M is perfect for me as a homeowner for all the sawing I do! Cannot say enough good things about this saw or STIHL! May 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 amazing little saw! this is an amazing little saw, iv cutt side by side with other professionals w/ bigger saws and this little thing will keep up with bigger saws. 'AKA' the little ripper. great fuel economy, its light, and this one come with floating gear set up instead of normal star sprocket. also much better because of this..from heavy to minor yard or household use to pretty hardcore field cutting, this saw can do the job well October 20, 2013
