Rated 5 out of 5 by Everything I wanted I am only 35 but my back is shot. I have plenty of bigger stihl saws but I was in pain when I was done all of their products are great but this one is so light it seems like a toy but don't be fooled it can cut wood like crazy not just the limb wood either but what ever the bar will cut it will buzz right through I am very impressed and so very happy at the end of the day my back still hurts but I can at least move and now have a warm house too!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by Super light cuts anything I need it to. Worked great for hinge cutting trees. Powered through anything I throw at it including hedge. Very light, my bad back never hurts. I have 2 larger Stihl saws that are collecting dust now. I am far from a pro, this saw will do anything I need it to. January 23, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by big disappointment I purchased this saw new and have been using chainsaws for over 40 years. It has positive attributes but it does not matter if oil cannot travel to the chain. I have almost 2 tanks of mix through the saw and have had 6 delays due to a hot, dry, tight chain. Upon removing the bar I find each time the oil port in the side of the bar is clogged with wood chips, no matter what kind of wood was being cut. I have read of other people reporting the same problem. The solutions vary, angle drilling the bar hole towards the tip, thinning the bar oil to 10 or 20% mineral spirits, or totally using canola oil in place of standard bar oil. It was 60* when I last fought the saw so using winter grade oil will be no advantage. I have ran the saw without the bar and it produced a reasonable "slobber" of bar oil so the pump is functional. I have angle drilled the bar and gained no appreciable difference. Next is altering from standard bar oil.I could like this saw if I find the special pampered procedure but for now it is a grand waste of money and time. It is non functional.Incidentally, for those interested in getting more power from the little engine, I have read recommendations to open up the muffler, advance the timing 6* and re tune. Rated 5 out of 5 by Extremely light I've had about every climbing saw there is. This is the easiest to you. So light there is no reason for a pruning saw. Going to get a few more August 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great small saw Starts well, cuts well, small enough to apply anywhere. June 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Perfect Carving Saw I got my 150 soon after they came out & I absolutely LOVE it. If you're a chainsaw carver and you don't own one, you're missing out. It comes standard with a quarter-tip carving bar (I also run a dime-tip Oregon bar on mine) so it's ready to carver right out of the gate. And it's so light weight you can carve all day. The worst thing about it is that it makes all of my other saws feel like tanks. January 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is the most incredible lightweight chainsaw ever made I can't work with anything else. The lightweightness of it, low vibration, confort of the handle, etc makes the work super-easy. Good to go in-tree pruning branches, or cut down your winter firewood providers (trees) with a larger chainsaw, and then slice it to small cuttings with this one all day long if you want without getting tired (be sure to leave the thick slices for the big chainsaw). Good quality chain oil, good chain, and good fuel aditive (stihl is what I use) will last you twice more than other chainsaws. This works fast, precisely and cuts like butter.Another thing I love about this chainsaw, probably easy to miss by some inexperienced users, is the so important brake band. This is very good quality material. I've worked with other makes that break this band quite easily on the slightest hit of the brake bar. On my Stihl it never broke once. The fitting of the cover is supereasy (made in such a manner that you must release the break, otherwise you will not be able to remove it - on other companies, the lid comes of weather you break or not break the chain...and this leads to wear of materials and nuisance). The fact that the blade adjustment screw is on the side and not next to the blade itself, renders the tensioning super-easy. The fact that there is only one nut to screw is awesome. The smooth start is effortless and starts on the first pull (you can start it standing with ease and the chainsaw doesn't move if you grip it well enough - yes, the center of gravity is that good, most chainsaws have the grip behind the engine making standing start impossible, the grip of this one is on top of the engine, so it doesn't move, but for safety purposes, grip it well and clear away). The fuel and oil caps are awesome to work with, even with greasy hands and gloves we can open them without effort. Manual fuel pump is mandatory in my opinion. I find it lacking on other companies chainsaws, this one has it.The muffler is awesome. Not too noisy, and has a good sound to which one can even talk with another, and has really reduced exhaust emission, just like they say.Overhaull...I've worked with 3 or 4 different chainsaw makes, and I never found the quality, sense of security and work simplicity that I found on Stihl. And I can honestly say that my "miniature toothpick cutter" beats out many big bad ones out there. I would never buy any other than Stihl. December 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best limbing saw on the market. It will change how you work Weighs like a handsaw, carving bar makes clean cuts in anything, low exhaust, easy pull even on tc model, and makes life easy. I can make clean cuts on anything from suckers to pruning cuts outside of oak collars. It will change your work. Built solid, runs all day all month strong, and you can move it quick from cut to cut. Will ruin any other saw for you. I've run 200, 201s, t540, t536 Lixp electric. It doesn't beat a 200, but they aren't around anymore. October 27, 2014
