    Simple, but useful tool
This Hookaroon (aka Pickaroon) is nothing new as far as design and function and It isn't the cheapest hookaroon out there, but it is very well built and built to last. The "Stihl orange makes it easy to find. I use it to pick up and move cut wood and to roll and drag logs around. Besides my chain saw and axe, I believe it is an essential tool in the forest.

Works great for gathering blocks of wood.
I purchased the Hookaroon because I was curious how well it would make my job easier. I use it around my Logsplitter to pull blocks of wood to me while I'm splitting wood. I've had mine for at least five years and I wouldn't be without it when I split wood. GREAT tool for those that like to make splitting wood easy!

    A MUST for all loggers
I have a STIHL Cant hook along with this log stand and what a miracle tool it is! I have used it countless times in the forest and I have lifted some VERY heavy felled trees with it! With the tree lifted, cutting the trunk/branches are a breeze! As I mentioned, this is a MUST own for all loggers and/or farmers that rely on firewood!

Works well for getting logs off the ground.
I purchased the log stand with a 60" STIHL cant hook and find it to be very useful in raising logs off the ground far enough to keep your chain from hitting the dirt. An added benefit is that the stand is easily removed for using the cant hook alone. Easy to use and very durable.

    Log stand or Log Jack
This is a great tool for lifting fallen trees. it elevates the fallen tree so your chain saw does not touch the ground when cutting a fallen tree.

Very useful, versatile must have tool in the woods.
I purchased one of each size Cant Hooks from my STIHL Dealer as I find them to be very useful tools to use in moving large logs for blocking. I've had mine since STIHL brought them out and they are extremely durable, well made, valuable tools to have if you do a lot of firewood cutting. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Heavy Duty - Does what it's built for
Sandy dropped a huge oak on my lot. Moving and positioning 25 to 30" diameter logs for cutting and clearing seemed impossible without this. Using this tool and some tuck ramps as pivot points, it became easy. Just bought the log jack extension to raise remaining pieces for cutting.

It did what I asked of it
I fairly recently moved to a house with a wood burning fireplace and wanted to get into supplying myself with firewood. I found a good source and was lead to a large tree (to me (about 35" dia)) that fell about 2 years ago. I started out with an older Poulan that I had... well that's another story. Anyway, I'm not a professional and the large diameter was a bit daunting to cut rounds out of. Searched the internet and found out about Peavey's and Cants and decided that that is what I needed. I ... read more wasn't looking to spend a lot of money but just couldn't bring myself to buy the ones I found in a local farm store (generally rated for 12" Dia). I found two highly recommended cants - one from Logrite and Stihl. They seemed to be the same thing. Since I was heading to the local Stihl Dealer for some equipment anyway and I figured it was easier for any warranty issues and repairs, I bought one. IT PERFORMED AWESOME! I'm very happy with this product. Good confidence builder. I was even pulling out some 10" dia X 6' long logs that were half sunk in the ground fairly easily. I'm am now thinking about the lifter attachment.

    Indispensable tool
Before I begin, I will say this. Yes, there are cheaper peavies out there, but they are just that, cheap. This peavey offered by steel is made here in the USA. That matters more and more to me these days. Quality is first and foremost in deciding what I should spend my money on. Stihl is synonymous with quality, and their products have never let me down. The Stihl peavey's quality and strength will be known as soon as you see it in person and hold it in your hands. It makes moving heavy timber ... read more and lumber a breeze. The handle has to be 2 inches in diameter with a nice foam grip that is around 18" long to give you plenty of area to get the best grip. The hook is mounted to a reinforced collar that is welded onto the tool's main shaft, and it is secured with a grade 8 bolt and lock nut. The point is blunt, but I am sure that is for shipping safety and store liability. It is nothing a file or grinder won't cure in a few minutes if you need or want really sharp. I use this tool a lot in conjunction with my MS660 magnum for milling with my chainsaw mill. I don't know how or why I waited so long to get this. It sure simplified moving rather large logs into position to mill 33"x108"x2" slabs of spalted red maple. I highly recommend this tool if you're having to move heavy rounds, logs, or cants if need be. It will save your back, your energy, and make your day easier along with helping you to get more done.

Excellent tool and very well made
My wife and I use this Peavey to muscle tress weighing well over 400Kg. It takes a bit of practice to use it efficiently and also to recognize that some trees just will not co-operate. Trees with really thick bark like Ponderosa Pines and Cedars can be difficult, but Birches and other thin skinned trees work perfectly. I wish the handle was about a foot longer though...

Great Tool a must have if you log or mill timber :)
This tool is tough, reliable and worth its weight in gold to anyone that works with or around timber. I have two of the 48" model, a log carrier and a smaller version as a cant hook, note: if you are milling timber the cant hook doesn't dig into the good timber like the peavey spike does and will save you from loosing good timber.
