Rated 5 out of 5 by Great piece of equipment This is the first power blower I have had. It is very easy to start. It is powerful enough that in many instances, idle speed is enough to take care of our needs. I highly recommend. September 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very pleased with this unit The Big 55 is a very easy starting unit I have two stihl Line trimmers and two of there chainsaws and if you follow the proper starting procedure they start right up. Rated 5 out of 5 by Very dependable machine. This is my second blower of this model. The first didn't wear out, it was stolen after several years of reliable use. Couldn't live without it so I bought another just like the first. Very dependable, reliable, and always ready to go when I need it. September 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Work well and a good value. It works well once you learn it is easily flooded with the bulb fuel feeder. September 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by VERY satisfied with the Stihl blower! This blower was purchased to replace 2 other brands which were very unsatisfactory. Neither would start unless you pulled your arm off!! The Stihl starts every time on the 3-4 pull. The power is great for any home application. Highly recommend Stihl for your first purchase and not waste time with other brands. September 7, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Would nor recomend this model This blower seems to only start when it wants, and it is hard to start when it does start. After it starts it seems like it runs great, I will be taking it back and see what they can do about the way it starts. And yes I did get the 2 cycle oil they recommended September 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by dependable for long time You can't go wrong with a Stihl product. You pay more upfront but less in the long run. I just wish the company would make some simple changes to help Joe customer. Dump the O/I switch. Make it an on/off switch. Put the word CHOKE on the equipment and the word RUN on the equipment. So many Stihl problems are from starting issues because people have it in the choke position too long thinking they have it in the run position. NEVER EVER CHOKE A STIHL FOR OVER THREE CRANKS OR YOU WILL BE EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Simple changes to solves worlds of customer dissatisfaction. I asked the dealer who has sold these for years....What does the I and O stand for on the switch? He said I have no idea but I tell my customers the I means " I am ready to start it" so this would be the "on."You have to but the Stihl spark plug remover. $3.00, no other remover on the market works. Rated 1 out of 5 by Waste of money, hard to start I have owned other Stihl products and have been very satisfied, but not in this case. I bought this thing and used it the day I bought it. Ran fine. Got it out a week later and could barely get it started. It got progressively harder to start on each subsequent use. I changed the spark plug, changed the air and fuel filter, and ran properly mixed fuel. Nothing helped. I finally gave it to a homeless guy. Will not buy another Stihl blower. August 27, 2014
