Rated 5 out of 5 fall begins with leaves falling down. I received this leaf blower bg 55 this past weekend as part of my birthday gift from my in-laws. This is my first time owning a Stihl product. Let me first say that my yard is pretty good size with total of 4 giant trees. My back yard was completely cover with leaves. It took my total of 5 hours to get the job done. The BG 55 leaf blower stood up to the test. Very reliable, dependable and lots of power to get all the leaves out from for pick up. The value is price right and easy to use. Many more Stihl products from me years to come. Thank you Stihl. October 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 Great product I've used this blower for 6 months on many yard jobs I should have burnt the motor up 6 times but it will not stop I've ran a full tank of fuel through it without stopping and it didn't give in a bit this is the best blower I have ever owned !!! October 26, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Learning experience I bought this for my 83yr. old grandfather. He has a Stihl FS70 trimmer and really liked it so I got this for a replacement for his old blower. The on off switch seems to be a hard thing to get right he is constantly flooding it. I don't understand why this blower uses this switch and the others don't. I purchased the monetary switch from another model and so far so good. He hasn't flooded it yet. I think replacing the switch would be a big improvement for anyone having trouble with this model. Rated 3 out of 5 by Cold blooded until warm I bought my BG55 blower a few months ago. It runs great when warmed up, but really finiky when cold. If you don't want to flood the blower be sure to follow the starting procedure exactly, as it floods extremely easy. Expect it to run rough, die out, and sometimes refuse to restart during warmup. I own 2 Stihl chain saws and a Stihl trimmer, none of which act like this. I've read all the reviews and various ideas on how to solve the problem, but nothing really works. I've concluded that the problem is with Stihl cheapening up and using a junk Zama Chinese carbureator rather than the American made Waldo carb they previously used. My older Stihl blower used the Waldo carb and always ran dependabily. So much for German engineering!!! October 20, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy to flood., so be careful not to over prime.. Using this blower for over a year, I have found it to flood very easily by following the directions to set the choke then pressing the primer bulb five times. Doing this has consistently caused it to flood and not start for hours. Most of the time it starts just by setting the choke and NOT priming the bulb. Sometimes I don't even set the choke and just pull the start cord and it fires right up.If you live in New England as I do, never use old gas stored over the winter. Make a new batch every season and use the Stihl 2-cycle oil and not a generic brand. As to it's effectiveness, the BG55 moves a lot of leaves in my yard in the fall. Yes you can get more powerful units, but I didn't want anything heavier than this. October 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Plenty of blower for a homeowner, love mine. I bought mine before the leaves started falling, I freaquently clean the sidewalks, driveways, and the floors of my garage out with it. Since fall has come, cleaning up the yard is a snap. Easy to start, easy to use. Good investment. October 18, 2014
