The STIHL MS 250 chain saw features a high power-to-weight ratio and STIHL engineering, like two piston rings to ensure engine compression and longer engine life and 25 cooling fins on the cylinder equivalent to those of a larger professional use chain saw; and a 3-piece, forged and machined crankshaft that is balanced to withstand 540,000 RPMs/hour (9,000 RPMs at 60 minutes). Add to that the anti-vibration system that helps reduce operator fatigue – STIHL introduced the first anti-vibration system for chain saws in 1965.
STIHL is the only chain saw manufacturer that makes its own saw chain and guide bars, resulting in a cutting system, which on the STIHL MS 250 features a .325 pitch chain that has a longer running life, is more resistant to wear, and features a STIHL ROLLOMATIC® Ematic™ guide bar providing precise, efficient oiling. The saw chain and guide bar in this cutting system also reduce the risk of kickback. Other features like a 1-piece, spur sprocket manufactured by STIHL is a service item that is easy to replace.
