Tackling your next landscaping project just got a little easier with the new STIHL FS 40 C-E and FS 56 C-E occasional use trimmers. Powered by an advanced low-emission engine, these new additions to the STIHL HomeScaper Series™ family feature STIHL Easy2Start™ and offer a new semi-automatic choke designed to help prevent flooding and a simplified starting procedure to help you get started with fewer steps. Designed with the Do-It-Yourself customer in mind, these trimmers are packed with features and benefits to save both time and money. Powered by an advanced fuel-efficient and low-emission engine, these new additions to the STIHL HomeScaper Series™ family reduce emissions by up to 60% as compared to previous models, making them better for the environment, too.
The well-balanced and lightweight curved-shaft FS 40 C-E STIHL HomeScaper Series™ trimmer is ideal for homeowner trimming around flower beds and in hard-to-reach places. Boasting one of the lowest price tags in the STIHL trimmer family, with the added benefit of increased fuel-efficiency make this string trimmer a perfect fit for the value-conscious homeowner.
The straight shaft FS 56 RC-E STIHL HomeScaper Series™ trimmer offers homeowners the same great features as the FS 40 C-E, but with a slightly more powerful engine. Low vibration and an added support strap allow for extended comfort. The STIHL FS 56 C-E is the bike handle version of this trimmer.
The Easy2Start™ system eliminates the need for a strong fast pull of the starting cord. Using dual spring technology, it also eliminates the resistance and jerks felt as compression is created in the engine's cylinder.
"Since I have lots of trees and shrubs and several long fence rows at the Garden Home Retreat, I was looking for a line trimmer that was lightweight and easy to start. It was also important to me that the engine was fuel efficient with low emissions, said P. Allen Smith, author of the best-selling Garden Home book series and host of nationally-syndicated television series P. Allen Smith Gardens and public televisions P. Allen Smiths Garden Home. The STIHL FS 40 C-E trimmer met all those requirements and then some. All it takes to advance the line on the trim head is just a quick tap. That's a real time saver."
