STIHL Inc. presented its STIHL MS 441 Street Boss® custom-built chopper Thursday October 25th at the Green Industry and Equipment EXPO (GIE+EXPO) in Louisville, Ky. World Champion lumberjill Erin LaVoie joined STIHL Inc. President Fred J. Whyte to present the Street Boss® to the lucky new motorcycle owner, Kirk VanMeter of Murrysville, Pa. VanMeter was randomly selected from over 700,000 entries submitted in this year-long promotion.

To launch its MS 441 STIHL Magnum™ professional chain saw, STIHL Inc. commissioned Cimorose’s Custom Cycle in Elkton, Md. to build the motorcycle. The design of the chopper was inspired by the detailing of the STIHL MS 441 chain saw, including the trademarked STIHL orange and grey color scheme, a chain saw starter handle, MS 441 nameplates, a chain saw-shaped engine casing, and authentic STIHL guide bar and saw chain design accents.

VanMeter , 51, is definitely making a leap in equipment. “I have a motorcycle license for my motor scooter, but this will be a huge jump for me. I can’t thank STIHL enough for giving me the chance to win.”

The year-long promotion culminated in the motorcycle being given away in the STIHL booth on the GIE+EXPO convention floor by Whyte, who presented the bike to Van Meter, stating “Frankly, we were quite pleased with the success of this promotion and are thrilled Kirk is a STIHL product user. The number of professionals who purchased the MS 441 STIHL Magnum™ during the contest cycle demonstrates the appreciation in the marketplace for the anti-vibration and low-emission characteristics of this particular chain saw.”

STIHL drove the launch of the MS 441 STIHL Magnum™ professional chain saw with the custom motorcycle promotion. LaVoie, one of the top-ranked female choppers in logger sports
toured the country with the bike, appearing at trade shows and special events sponsored by STIHL.

“I’m sad to see it end. I met so many STIHL dealers and have a better understanding of the pride they having in carrying the world’s best selling brand of chain saws,” said LaVoie. “I met thousands of customers who all had a STIHL chain saw story to tell.”
