VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (August 2, 2004) - Two of the 28 STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Series competitors are scheduled to perform an outside demonstration on ESPNs Cold Pizza, a live morning sports show, on August 3, 2004 from 7:00-9:00 a.m. EST. A tape of the show runs again from 9:00-11:00 a.m. EST.
2003 returning champion David Bolstad of New Zealand and Columbia University graduate Mike Slingerland of North Carolina were selected for the show and will be performing the underhand chop and stock saw events, respectively. The STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Series, in its 19th season, is sponsored by Dodge, Carthartt and Cabellas. The 28 athletes hail from four different countries and are considered the best of the best. Each competitor strives toward the ultimate bragging rights of champion, a new Dodge RAM and a portion of the total prize purse valued over $250,000.
Cold Pizza is a live sports show that combines a unique treatment of sports with pop culture, lifestyle features, and consumer advice. The Cold Pizza event helps to kickoff the first series qualifier at the New Jersey State Fair in Augusta, New Jersey.
