Q. I have a problem with…who do I talk to?
A. We can’t properly diagnose any product operating
problems over the Internet so visit your local STIHL dealer.
The STIHL dealer network is trained to handle problems arising
with the operation of your STIHL product. If you need assistance
in finding your nearest dealer, use the dealer locator, or
see the Yellow Pages under "saws", or "lawn and
garden".
Q. What is the correct gas/oil ratio for STIHL products?
A. When using STIHL branded Two Cycle Mix Oil, a 50:1 ratio (1 gallon of gasoline to 2.6 oz of STIHL 2 Cycle Oil).
STIHL has Two Cycle Oil in easy to use bottles that are pre-measured
for easy mixing with regular grade gasoline that has a minimum
rating of 89 octane. Refer to your owner manual. See your
dealer for STIHL Two
Cycle Oil and for more information on your particular
product.
Q. I’m having trouble getting the trimmer line to advance,
what should I do?
A. We have several types of trimmer line cutting heads.
The Polymatic™ is a manual feed, so you have to stop
the trimmer and manually turn the knob at the bottom to feed
the line. The Autocut® feeds by revving the engine up and
tapping the head on the ground. The STIHL Supercut™ feeds
line automatically as you cut, no manual adjustment or bumping
is required. If you have other questions or are unsure of
the type of cutting head you have, look under trimmer
accessories on our Web site, or see your local STIHL dealer.
