“STIHL’s Reel
in the Outdoors” with Joe Thomas to premiere
nationally on Outdoor Channel

It’s a shared passion for
the outdoors that brought Joe Thomas, professional
bass angler and television series host, together
with the manufacturer of the world’s number
one selling brand of chain saws.
STIHL Inc. has teamed up with Joe Thomas to bring the “STIHL’s Reel in the Outdoors” series to the Outdoor Channel. This new prime time show focuses on the fun, excitement and bold side of fishing, away from the pressures of the professional tournament circuit. The series, which premieres July 6, will run
26 consecutive weeks with an anchor airing at
7:30 a.m. Sundays.
While the show centers primarily on bass fishing,
Thomas will also explore other freshwater fishing
styles and introduce average everyday anglers
who have perfected unusual techniques in pursuit
of the purest form of angling fun.
Spokesperson and personality, Thomas, has been
associated with STIHL for several years through
Bryan Equipment Sales, Inc., a STIHL distributor
located in his home region of Loveland, Ohio.
“Through the years, I’ve endorsed
a lot of product lines, but have received more
positive
comments about the STIHL brand than any other
sponsor,” Thomas said. “I don’t
get that kind of feedback for any other sponsors.”
STIHL has a legendary reputation as an industry
leader dedicated to quality and the outdoors
makes it the perfect corporate sponsor for the
program.
“The folks at STIHL get it,” Thomas
said. “They
understand that the same passion and desire that
attracts people to angling also attracts them
to the do-it-yourself spirit that STIHL embodies.”
Thomas currently competes on the FLW Tour and
series, and has appeared on Outdoor Channel original
productions “Angler on Tour,” “Ultimate
Match Fishing College Edition” and “Ultimate
Match Fishing.” Spending most of his time
on the water and taking care of the environment,
Thomas’ support of conservation and stewardship
links him with STIHL’s push to offer more low-emission, fuel-efficient products.
Targeted to attract America’s 50 million-plus outdoorsmen and women, the show will have an initial subscriber base of 30 million households and availability to over 82 million homes.
