STIHL Superboat

In its first full season in the SuperCat division of the SBI race series, the STIHL Superboat captured the Florida, National and World championships in 2011. The team won 5 of 7 races in their division, highlighted by victories in Clearwater, FL to secure the National Championship and in Key West, Fl for the World Championship.

Fresh off their success in the Superboat Stock series, the STIHL Superboat has moved up in class to the Super Cat series. Bob Noble, Jr., President of STIHL Southeast in Orlando, Fla. is the driver of the 38 foot Skater Catamaran. His teammate, Grant Bruggemann controls the throttles. The new STIHL Superboat was built by Douglas Marine in Douglas, Mich., and was rigged by Grant’s Custom Rigging in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The twin Mercury 525 horsepower engines with #6 drives reach speeds up to 130 MPH.

The team enjoyed success in the Superboat Stock series, winning the National and World Championships in 2008, finishing in 2nd place in the World Championships in 2009, and placing 2nd in the National Championships in 2010. The Super Cat series features a highly competitive field and exciting racing at each stop in the Superboat International circuit.
