STIHL Dogs & Logs World Championships
World-class athletes come in all shapes and sizes. And sometimes, those athletes have four legs, a fur coat, and a need to fetch.
Each year, teams of humans and dogs compete in the annual STIHL Dogs and Logs World Championships during the Stillwater, Minnesota
LumberJack Days. Top lumberjack sports athletes partner with “DockDog” canine competitors.
Dogs will compete in the Iron Dog events, Big Air, Extreme Vertical and Speed Retrieve, while skilled lumberjack athletes
will vie for the title of “King of the Forest” in the world championship the Ironjack Competition. This grueling event pits
the eight lumberjack athletes against one another in six back-to-back events: axe throw, standing chop, single-buck, obstacle pole
race, speed climb and boom run. Top lumberjack sports athletes from all corners of North America will try for the $25,000 prize.
The culminating challenge is the Dogs and Logs Relay Championship, which pairs a lumberjack who climbs, saws and chops, with a DockDog
that retrieves bird dummies.
