STIHL Super Boat

STIHL Super Boat

The STIHL Offshore Racing team was formed in 2007 when STIHL Southeast president and team driver Bob Noble Jr. commissioned the team’s first Super Boat. This was a 32’ catamaran built by Doug Wright and completed by Grant’s Custom Rigging. The boat’s inaugural race was at a competition in Panama City, FL in October 2007.

In 2010 Noble sold the original Doug Wright catamaran and bought a 388 Skater catamaran. The new STIHL Super Boat was built by Douglas Marine and was rigged by Grant's Custom Rigging. It features twin Mercury 525 horsepower engines with #6 drives that can reach speeds up to 130 MPH.

Around this time, the team moved up in class from the Super Boat Stock series to the Super Cat series. The new 388 Skater was raced on a limited schedule for the rest of the 2010 season. 2011 was the team’s first full season in the Super Cat division of the SBI race series. This racing campaign saw sweeping success and the team captured both the Florida and National Championships for the 2011 season.

The STIHL Super Boat team continues to enjoy success in the SBI race series. To read more about the team’s achievements and find a complete listing of scheduled races, results, videos and photos, please visit:
