Known as the “voice of agriculture,” the AFB is an independent, non-governmental organization advocating for educational, economic and social advancement at all levels of the agriculture production community. Since 2003, STIHL has sponsored the AFB’s Young Farmers & Ranchers program promoting excellence, innovation and advancement among the 18 to 35-year-old future leaders of the agriculture industry.
As the exclusive handheld outdoor power equipment provider for the ATFS, STIHL provides support to the organization and its more than 90,000 independent landowners to promote renewable forest resources while protecting environmental benefits and increasing public understanding of the benefits of productive forestry. The mission of the Association of Consulting Foresters is to advance the practice of professional consulting forestry. The FFA is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Since 2003, STIHL has partnered with the FFA through the sponsorship of its annual National Convention and the Nursery Landscape Career Development Event (CDE) competition.
STIHL has partnered with the NHLA and its members to foster the well-being, integrity, and advancement of Hispanics in the landscape industry by providing Hispanic industry professionals a voice in the national dialogue on environmentally responsible landscape practices and key legislative advocacy issues.
For over a century, the NRHA has been serving the needs of independent hardware and home improvement retailers in North America. STIHL was the first manufacturer to sponsor PlanItDIY.com, an NRHA-produced website supported by over 36,000 independent hardware stores, lumberyards and home centers and providing how-to videos and step-by-step project guides all designed connect “DIYers” directly to independent retailers in their community.
PLANET's Academic Excellence Foundation (PLANET AEF) fund was formed to provide academic assistance students pursuing an education and future in the green industry. STIHL, both a founding sponsor and platinum sponsor of the AEF, presents a scholarship each year through the fund. STIHL is active on the board of directors.
Originally founded by actor and philanthropist Paul Walker, ROWW activates its deployments within hours and has a passion to aid the victims of disasters. The organization and its volunteers travel to affected areas and utilize skills including project management, logistics, heavy equipment operation, EMT paramedic training, firefighting, nursing and other first responder disciplines.
A non-profit, educational institution dedicated to the conservation of tropical forests through sustainable forestry, the TFF has established demonstration models and training schools to show advantages and teach principles of sustainable forest management/reduced-impact logging. STIHL is a proud sponsor and an active participant on the board of directors.
Established in 1938, TCIA develops safety and education programs and provides accreditation and certification services for arboriculture firms around the world. As part of a long-term relationship with TCIA, STIHL sponsors the annual Tree Care Industry Association Foundation (TCIAF) Student Career Days (tciaf.org), a career development event for arboriculture, urban forestry and horticulture students.
The TREE Fund works to sustain the world’s urban forests by providing funding for scholarships, scientific research, and education programs related to arboriculture and urban forestry. STIHL is proud to partner with the TREE Fund in support of its educational initiatives and as title sponsor of their signature fundraising event, the STIHL Tour des Trees. STIHL is active on the board of trustees, as well.
