STIHL and the American Tree Farm System: Partners in caring for nature
Can a chain saw company and 90,000 tree farmers possibly find common ground?
Well, not only did we find it—we’re helping them put 5 million trees into that ground.
STIHL, in an exclusive partnership with the American Tree Farm System
(ATFS) and its more than 90,000 tree farmers, will help plant more than 5 million trees this year. In
addition, STIHL will be the presenting sponsor of the ATFS
Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year award, which aims to promote forest management as well as recognize
outstanding tree farmers and the foresters who work
with them.
The industry award also focuses public attention on models of good forestry, while encouraging landowners
to manage their lands more effectively by showing what
the winners have accomplished. Award winners often
become successful advocates, positively influencing
legislation that affects private forest landowners.
Not only is STIHL the sole handheld outdoor power equipment
provider for the ATFS, it is also a leader in other environmental
areas including low-emission technologies and quieter, more fuel-efficient engines.
